The Ophelia Project founded here in Erie, for years has worked with kids of all ages across the Country.
Monday, they teamed up with an advocacy group to help train mentors to work more closely with young boys. Erie teachers, guidance counselors, and therapists gathered today at Stairways Behavioral Health Center for "BAM!", Boys Advocacy and Mentoring, training.
Co-author of the book "BAM!", Howard Hiton, spoke at today's training session and challenged attendees to see boys in new ways and teach them how to mentor young men to be more engaged with their peers and surroundings.
Presenter Howard Hiton informed us that "BAM!" has proven to help improve boys behavior in schools and classrooms.
