Summit Township Fatal Accident

A Waterford man is dead after an early morning accident in Summit Township. It happened around 2:30 this morning on Route 97, just south of Townhall Road. 23-year old Jonpaul Sandusky was driving south on 97 at a high rate of speed, when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a mailbox. The car then rolled approximately 100 feet, before hitting a tree. It then continued to roll another 85 feet, before hitting another tree. Sandusky was pronounced dead at the scene by Erie County Deputy Coroner, Dennis Suscheck. Sandusky was not wearing a seatbelt.
