Amanda Post

You've seen her perform and you've heard her name.  WICU 12 is proud to have Amanda Post on the 12News team.

Amanda has lived in NW Pennsylvania her entire life.  For ten years she taught in the Union City school district.  She taught kindergarten, third grade and sixth grade English.  Amanda enjoyed teaching and loved living in Union City.  "It's a very nice community, and a fabulous place to live."

Amanda attended Susquehanna University and Edinboro University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.  "She was a natural choice for us when we decided to hire an education reporter for 12News." Says WICU 12 News Director Phil Hayes.  "Amanda has brought a lot of knowledge and expertise to the education beat.  The response from our viewers was so positive she also seemed the natural choice to become one of our main anchors."

Amanda has always been interested in television news and when she heard about the opportunity at 12News she said, "I was anxious to get involved."  She really enjoys being part of the team that keeps the Erie area informed.  "I love being able to give people information about the news they are interested in, and I'm proud to be able to provide a service to the community."  Amanda says she knows there are differences between teaching and being a news anchor but she says there are similarities as well.  "You're always giving information.  The ages in the audience may be different, but the importance of sharing the information doesn't change."

Amanda was married in October 2001 and she and her husband now live in Erie.  "I love Union City, but the time invested in the commute was just too much, and when breaking news happens I'm was just too far from the station."

You can see Amanda at work every weeknight on 12News at 5, 6 & 11, coverage you can count on!
